Proceeds from the St. Augustine Spanish Wine Festival benefit local charities. Since the festival began, more than $325,000 has been donated to local charities. This year's charities are Flagler College's Hospitality and Tourism Management Program, St. Johns County Council on Aging, HorsePlay Therapy Center and SAiRA Foundation.
Flagler College Hospitality and Tourism Management Program
Aptly named for the father of Florida tourism, Henry Morrison Flagler, Flagler College offers a collegial setting with a rich legacy of hospitality at the former Hotel Ponce de Leon. Located in the heart of the oldest city in America, the Flagler College Hospitality and Tourism program is career-focused, offers a complementary blend of hospitality and business, and is structured around practical application of hospitality and tourism business principles.
St. Johns County Council on Aging
The mission of the St. Johns County Council on Aging is to lead and advocate for the dignity, independence, health and community involvement of older St. Johns County residents. The organization provides a myriad of programs and services to help local seniors remain healthy, happy and independent in their own homes for as long as possible.
HorsePlay Therapy Center
HorsePlay Therapy Center’s mission is to provide children with special needs a foundation for developing life skills that improve their overall quality of life through the use of equine assisted physical, occupation and speech therapies in a safe and caring environment.
The mission of the SAiRA Foundation is to leverage resources and talent to support workers primarily within the hospitality industry in times of extreme need and to promote hospitality-based education. Through these efforts, the foundation supports and strengthens the area’s tourism-based community.
