Children’s Museum of St. Augustine is dedicated to the growth and development of children and families through play-based learning experiences that celebrate the sciences, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) all around us. The museum honors the rich history and culture of our past and present and imagines the future. It inspires children and families to discover, explore and innovate through an exciting world of exhibits and programs.
K-9s United honors the memory of Baron, a K-9 officer in St. Johns County who was killed in the line of duty. The organization raises funds to support K-9 units. Many times, law enforcement budgets are unable to meet all of the needs of a K-9 unit, which include specialized equipment, veterinary services, training and computer software programs. K-9s United raises funds to help supply those needs to local law enforcement agencies with K-9 units.
The St. Augustine Office of Catholic Charities serves families and individuals, including seniors, children, mothers and fathers, who struggle on a daily basis to meet basic needs. Catholic Charities services include emergency assistance with rent, utilities, deposits and food assistance. The Weekend Hunger Backpack Program provides 250 students with healthy food and snacks for the weekend. The Back Roads Program serves low-income families in rural areas.
